Why the scar interests me
Restorative is a comforting word for a complicated set of events. Repaired tissue fascinates me long after the comforting description has worn off.
Restoration and its traces
A restored object often carries a trace of its repair. With tissue, the trace can be a scar. The scar's shape starts my enquiry, alongside the gap between a wound closing and a claim of full restoration.
The thymosin beta-4 review gave that interest a specific question. It describes fewer scar-forming cells in experimental models alongside the familiar story of cell movement and new vessels. A reduction appears within the account of regeneration. For me, this reduction gives regeneration a complication worth pursuing.
BPC-157's rat stomach-ulcer findings and rat tendon experiment then provide different materials to consider: a rebuilding lining and reorganising collagen. Both provoke my curiosity; neither result can be assumed to travel unchanged from one tissue, species or molecule to another.

Errors and new findings
A study could change this picture by measuring scar structure, following a human injury or testing the combination directly. Clear reporting of an unhelpful result would be just as useful. An observation that forces the appealing word restoration to become more precise would be especially welcome to me.
